The objective of the Veterans Justice Programs is to recognize justice-involved Veterans and call them through outreach, in order to help with access to VA services at the earliest possible point. Veterans Justice Programs achieve this by structure and preserving collaborations in between VA and crucial elements of the criminal justice system.
VJO Effort
The function of the VJO Effort is to prevent unneeded criminalization of mental disorder and extended imprisonment amongst Veterans by making sure that eligible Veterans in contact with the criminal justice system have access to veterans Health Administration (VHA) psychological health and drug abuse services.
