WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.– A recovery center is opening in Winston-Salem to assist those dealing with drug abuse.
The Twin City Recovery Center is a collective job in between Sistas4change Winston-Salem and the Phoenix House for Women.
The center will offer recovery assistance services.
Volunteers state their objective is to make a recovery a truth.
” Our structure is going to be a location where they can come and feel comfy and understand that they are not being evaluated,” Donna Carter stated. “Get a warm meal. They do not need to be out in the street throughout the day.”
From 2019 to 2020, the state saw a 40% boost in overdose-related deaths, according to the N.C. Department of Health and Person Solutions.
The Twin City Recovery Center is set to open in September.
