Bay County, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – Bay District Schools is being granted a five-year Drug abuse and Mental Health Service Administration Grant to continue to support its student-focused mental health services.
The grant will supply almost $1.5 million in moneying each year for 5 years. It becomes part of a “Grow Your Own” program.
The cash will be utilized to sustain and broaden the variety of licensed school therapists in the district.
Bay District Schools Superintendent Costs Husfelt stated the school district will continue to put mental health initially.
” Our trainees remain in more of a crisis than they have actually ever remained in public education history,” Husfelt stated. “It’s due to the fact that of what is going on around them, not due to the fact that of what is going on in school, therefore we are continuously attempting to determine how to assist our trainees be more powerful and much better and more durable and having the specialists and certified specialists is the crucial to this.”
Bay District Schools was chosen out of more than 200 receivers throughout the nation.
